Today it rained and thundered for a good part of the day. As soon as I woke up I knew it was the perfect day to be in the kitchen.
I made banana chocolate chip muffins for breakfast. (Recipe is from allrecipes.com and is called oh my gosh muffins.) They were fantastic! Hubs and the kids ate 9 before the second batch came out of the oven.
After I cleaned up from the muffin making I got to work on a big pot of red beans and rice. Hubs had requested it the other day so I found a recipe I thought sounded good. They were the best red beans I have ever had. Macie ate FOUR bowls. I couldn't believe it. But they were indeed THAT good. I also made mini cornbread muffins with the new mini muffin tin I got for less than $3 at Michaels using a coupon. Score!!
I'm about to start our bedtime routine and then we are going to let Tinkerbell and Quinn (our chinchillas) loose for play time. We haven't been able to successfully get them to bond yet so playtime together is the next best move.
