State comp. road trip PART 3

Last night I typed out a big huge post and because my service is soooo bad out here it got deleted after it tried to post for 7 hours. So I'm going to break it up into a much smaller post and only do a few pics at a time.

The morning of competition we woke up early, showered and went down to breakfast. Since we had gotten to the hotel so late the pool was already closed. The kids REALLY wanted to swim but the pool wasn't supposed to open until 10:00 am. All the girls had to be on their way to competition by then so my besties hubby went to the front desk and told them we had 3 little cheerleaders who really wanted to swim. They said absolutely no problem at all and let us open the pool after we were done with breakfast around 8:00. The kids got to swim and we were the only ones out there for 90% of the time!

Here's a few photos until I post more.

Cheer starts!

Cheer officially started up again on Friday for Makayla. She lives for cheer. When we signed her up last year I had NO idea that she would become so in love with it. It's where her heart is. They are already deep into their new routine for competition.

We are now past the point of busy as the kids are now in karate, cheer, show choir and history club. They are only in elementary school. OY!!! This is intense.

This is just a super quick post because I have to get ready for my 2nd 9 hour shift this weekend. I think I need to take the PT out of my side bio. 35 hours a week isn't exactly part time.

Yellow belts and teal poms

All three of the kids had advancement testing for karate and cheer a few weeks ago. I was so nervous for them. Turns out I had no reason to be. They nailed it.

The boy and Macie earned their yellow belts and Makayla moved up in Pom Pom color which is how they advance. I am so proud of my kids. They have really put their all into their activities.

1st Place!!!

Yesterday was one of the best days I think I've ever had as a parent. Makayla and I went to her first cheerleading competition. We had to get there 2.5 hours early so all the girls could get their makeup and accessories on. I ended up being a parent helper. I put glitter on approx. 25 excited cheerleaders. It took us nearly 3 hours to get all the girls ready. They would practice and their poms would hit their face or someone would bump into each other and it would smudge the makeup so we had to keep doing touch ups. It was intense. But absolutely awesome!

When it came time to perform our girls ROCKED it!!! In fact they did so good they won FIRST place!!! We were all so very proud of each one of them. They performed a cheer routine and then a dance routine. Makayla has put so much into cheer these last few months. She is beyond dedicated and pushes herself to keep getting better. I am one proud mama and I'm so glad she has found something that makes her so happy.

Each girl got a trophy no matter where they placed and then a medal. Each place was a different color ribbon. First was blue!

And to top it off my bestfriends daughter performed earlier in the day and took home 1st place in her division as well. So awesome!

After I picked up the boy and Macie from my mom and aunt we headed home. I got the kids in bed and then had dinner with my other bestie at our fav Mexican restaurant. Great food, hilarious conversation and a strawberry margarita that was insanely delicious. Yep I ended the perfect day in a perfect way.

She loves cheerleading!

The cheer practice clothes came in last week and this is the first night Makayla gets to wear them.

That makes for one exciting Friday night for a certain 9 year old.

Cheer uniform and I hate windows 8

First off let me say how much I HATE Windows 8. Seriously I have almost thrown my brand new laptop across the room just because of it. There is not a single thing I like about it. From my understanding I am stuck with it though which really infuriates me. So anyway, moving right along....

Blogger has decided for some reason that when I am on my laptop it will not accept the photos that came from my phone. So it's looking like my blogging will be a mix from now on of my iphone and laptop. It's all very interesting isn't it? No? Ok then I'll move on to the regularly scheduled blogging.

A few weeks ago when Makayla had cheer camp we bought her uniform. Practice isn't a big deal as far as what they wear although we should be getting in our practice clothes order soon. This uniform was *EXPENSIVE*. Really quite ridiculous actually but it is required for competition so we caved. It's a good thing she loves it. Kinda helped when they were prying the money from this mamas hands.

This kid is serious about her cheer. She practices every single day and can now do the splits. She is only a few inches off the ground when she does them. When she started she couldn't even remotely do them. But with hard work and everyday practice she has already accomplished so much.
This hair screamer was optional but I went ahead and got it because I just couldn't resist her beautiful blue eyes looking up at me with all the cheer uniform excitement. And it IS adorable.

Cheer camp and shopping for me

Today's cheer camp was a success. We went early, bought Makaylas uniform and then had lunch before she had to be back for the camp part to start. I dropped her off and got about three hours to myself. It was quite nice. I mapped the nearest Bath and Body Works on my phone and headed out. Thankfully the shopping center was only 10 minutes from where the camp was located. I got in plenty of shopping time.

The solitude was nice but I REALLY enjoyed having one on one time with my girl. It is almost impossible for me to get time alone with each kid so when it happens it's a big deal. She is growing up so fast and absolutely LOVES cheerleading. She asked me in the car today if I was ok with her sticking with it through high school. She truly has a passion for this and I couldn't be prouder of my little cheerleader.

We ate at Jack in the box today for lunch. I ordered egg rolls and forgot that they put a little bit of chicken in them. It's such a small amount and I didn't want to waste my money so I went ahead and ate them. Other than that though I have stuck with the no meat challenge I gave myself. And it's getting easier.

I plan on sharing uniform pics soon. I'm so glad we took the plunge and put the kiddos in cheer and karate. They all 3 love it so much. Watching her perform after they had finished for the day was so awesome. I can't believe how far she has come in just a few weeks of classes.

Cheerleading and poms

I'm falling behind on my blogging. Tonight the boy and Macie have karate and we are buying their uniforms. I now see how moms with kids in activities always feel busy and rushed. It's ridiculous. But it's a good feeling. I good kind of being rushed.

I wanted to get Makayla's first day of cheer pics up before I forget. We bought her poms the first day so when she came home I snapped a few pics of her with them. She loves shaking them and absolutely loved her first class.
