Extended bedtime and Frankenweenie

There are SO many things I want to share but can't really find the right words. I will say that things are changing around here and they are wonderful and welcome changes. I'll find the words (and time) to share them soon but for now here is a pic I took tonight.

I had the kids all ready for bed and hubs comes home with Frankenweenie on blu ray and told me to let them come watch it in the living room. Normally we would let them watch it in their room but they only have a DVD player and not a blu ray. So they are all in there glued to the big screen and enjoying the extra special bedtime tonight.

Guess what I saw??

It's almost 1:00 am but I'm pretty awake. Breaking Dawn part 2 was hands down the best. They threw a twist in there that no one saw coming. You know a movie is great when the entire theater is yelling, cheering and crying at the same time. I had such a fun night out with one of my besties.

It was very very needed.

Sunday: Our lazy day

Part of our weekends are hard. When the kids are all together they pretty much fight non stop all day long. It gets rough on Saturdays. Hubs is only off one day a week (Sunday) and despite the first half of the weekend being difficult we have sort of fallen into a comfortable routine on Sundays.

There are always redbox movies and lots of lounging around. Sunday is our lazy day. And I'm starting to love it.

Hubs and the kids watched the new Muppets movie. They were so cute all cozy with their blankets. Every time I walked into the room I thought my heart might explode.

Ice Age 4

I spent 90% of the weekend sick with some kind of stomach virus. 36 hours straight of nausea. Not fun at all especially when it ruins attending a pool party and going to the beach. By today I was feeling well enough to actually stay out of bed for a while so we took advantage and saw Ice Age 4.

I had promised the kids we would see it in theaters. This time I got smart and bought a large popcorn and drink so we could get refills. Kinda proved to be a bad idea since my kids asked for refills every second throughout the whole movie. They also consumed 2 large bags of buttery popcorn and 2 large Mr. Pibbs. Not exactly a nutritious dinner.

We loved the movie and all of us agreed it was better than Madagascar 3. I wanted to get some pictures of them in front of the movie poster but the theater didn't have one for Ice Age. We settled on the Finding Nemo 3D poster instead.

We went to the movies

I took the kids to see Madagascar 3 today. As soon as we walked in Macie screamed out a name and went running towards a little girl and threw her arms around her. Turns out it was one of her favorite friends from school! So I let her sit in the row in front of me with her friend. She couldn't have been happier.

The movie was pretty funny and all the kids liked it. I was surprised that the boy did so well during the movie. We had a few road bumps but otherwise it went well. I had to promise we will see the new Ice Age coming out soon since we are HUGE fans of the other 3.

We also finished off an entire medium bag of popcorn. Next time I will just pay the extra $1 and get a refillable large. The kids kept complaining they were still hungry throughout the movie. Oh and have you priced movie theater popcorn lately? Geez. For what I spent on the medium I could have gotten us a months worth of popcorn for home.
