The Easter that wasn't on Easter

When I look back on my past blog posts I realize that the ones where I just talked about our day to day lives are my favorite. A lot of times I don't blog because I'm thinking oh that's boring. But I'm going to start recording our day to day more often.

This Easter was quite different from previous  years. Since I had to work on Easter we had to switch it up a bit. The girls know the truth about the Easter bunny but the boy doesn't. The bunny had to come and leave the eggs a day early this year. We always do the egg hunt at my aunts. So Saturday we headed over there and the kids had a blast. Then I kissed them all bye and left because I had to be at work the next day. The bunny left the baskets for them at home until they got back Sunday night. So they basically had 2 days of Easter. I'll post the ones from at home later. These pics are just from my aunts. There are more of the boy because he doesn't mind having his picture taken nearly as much as the girls.

My mom crocheted the girls cute little chicks and the boy a ninja chick. They were such a hit.

Christmas 2013

We had an amazing Christmas! The kids were completely spoiled and my brother-in-law bought all three of them their own tablets. All Makayla wanted in this world was a Fur Real Monkey. She literally begged me every single day for 3 months straight. Seriously.

She squealed when she opened up her monkey. I could type out so much about that day but I'm just going to let the pictures talk for me.

I'm just gonna post a mix of pics from my aunts house, our house, and my in-laws.

Long time no post

I have exactly 3 minutes of available blog time. It's been a while since I last posted. We have had SO much going on and the week of Thanksgiving I developed a HORRIBLE upper respiratory infection. My boss sent me home on Black Friday because I almost passed out and then I ended up missing a full weeks worth of work. It was awful. I had to go to the ER because it felt like it did when I had pneumonia a few years ago. So that all slowed me down.

Makayla won 2nd place in their cheer competition and now they get to advance to state competition. Macie performed several times for show choir and there were holiday parties for all 3 of them yesterday at school.

I haven't taken many pics but here's a few until I can back track and post the last few weeks. I hope you all are enjoying this season.

Halloween (in September)

I *might* have put out our halloween decorations today. I'm off for the next couple days and I decided to focus on refreshing both my body and our home. After I dropped the kids off at school I came home and slept for an additional 3 hours. Then I woke up and began cleaning the house top to bottom and refreshing every thing. It only makes sense that I would bring out the fall and halloween stuff right?

I tried to wait until October. I really really did but I failed. I'm not the least bit sorry though. The kids were so excited to come home to it and I also have plans to make a trip to Target this weekend to get  more. Last year I didn't really want to decorate much. This year I am in the mood big time and our house is going to look like the Griswalds only halloween style.

It felt good to be able to just stay home today and focus on the house. More halloween and fall decor pics coming soon.

Our 4th of July

It seems like every year I forget how much I truly do love the 4th. I love the festivities, the grilling, everyone running around in red, white and blue. I just love it all.

We kept it simple during the day. We stayed home and I made red beans and rice and we just lounged about. Towards the evening the kids hit the pool and after it turned dark we bust out the glow sticks and sparklers. Oh and the watermelon. These kids can put away some watermelon.

At several points throughout the evening the boy exclaimed "This is the best night of my life!"

Glow sticks!

Happy 4th my friends! Back with more pics tomorrow. Here's my fav pic from tonight so far.

A late Easter

Because we were sick on Easter we moved the celebration with my family to last weekend. I didn't take many pictures but I did get some cute ones. Makayla would not let me take her photo. Oh the perils of having an almost 10 year old.

Easter day

This year Easter day has looked a little different from the years before. When the Easter bunny left the baskets he also left a note saying he would come back next weekend to hide the eggs outside due to us all being too sick to do much.

The boy is the only one who doesn't know the truth yet so it was easy to pull off. We had a quite day at home mostly. Hubs did make a run to Petco but I will post about that later on. I made red beans and rice and got a special lemon cake since I knew we wouldn't be leaving to visit family like most holidays.

The kids are all smitten with their new stuffed babies and have eaten their weight in candy. Happy Easter!! The Lord is risen!!
