Girls day (shopping, haircut, lunch and new shoes)

The boy spent the night at my moms last night and today they took him to the zoo so I declared today a girls day. We got ready and did some shopping. At Target we ended up finding Macie some shoes that neither of us could resist. I just pretended I didn't see the nearly $30 price tag and threw them in the basket. We also bought next years valentine cards because I don't want to spend $15 on cards again next year. So I spent $3 today and all 3 kids are covered.

We had lunch at Target and then went to Petco and to get Makaylas hair cut and thinned. Her hair is ridiculously thick so she feels so much better now. It was a really fun day for us three girls.

The last two pics are the before and after of the haircut.

Busy busy week

These last few days have been beyond packed. I finished my final exam, volunteered in the clinic and did about a million other things. Right now I'm waiting on the mattress delivery people. My house is a WRECK because of new furniture coming in (hooray!) and being put together. And of course new furniture leads to reorganizing.

Makayla also had cheer last night for the first time (pics coming). I woke up this morning and I was so sore. Then I realized its because I just couldn't wait for hubs to put together our new tv stand/ bookshelf so I hauled it all in myself and put it together myself as well. I paid for it this morning but at least our tv is properly displayed in all it's glory now.

When we were picking out our new mattress set we also had to buy me a new laptop. 99.9% of my career requires a computer. And not just a cheapy one. So I had to make the purchase so when it's time I'm ready. While there the kids had a blast listening to all the awesome headphones they had on display. Most of the pics are blurry because they were dancing while I was trying to take pics.

We left directly after school that day to run errands and stayed at the furniture store for 3 hours. Hubs and I hadn't eaten (I got the kids happy meals earlier in the evening) and we left the store around 9:45 and went straight to taco bell. By then the kids were hungry again so I got them some cinnamon twists to eat as a snack. It was a crazy busy day but it ended well. Laptop in hand and mattress bought.

This post is long enough so I'll try to catch up soon.

Furniture shopping

We are getting new living room furniture and mattresses for our bedroom within the next month. Yesterday hubs got off work early and we went furniture browsing. Macie really fell in love with this huge leather chair. She looked so cute sitting there just relaxing.

Craft Day: Part 2

We had so much fun making our first ornament wreaths that my best friend told all the kids to get shoes on and get in the car right after we were done.
A trip to Walmart.
With 6 children.
On a Friday.
CRAZY!

I kept telling her she was insane and we wouldn't survive it but she wasn't worried. We loaded all the kids up and headed out. Three in a basket and three walking. It worked out good especially when I took half to the van and she took half to check out.

Somehow we survived although we did joke that we were the women the people of Walmart were going home and talking about. And I'm pretty sure that they were. We were a pretty funny sight loading up a ton of ornaments in the basket while the baby is trying to throw them out and the older kids seeing every toy ever made and screaming "I want that!! I want that too!"

It was worth it in the end and we got just enough ornaments to make two more with a few left over for next year.

Resale find!

There is a resale shop by us that never has anything good. I always look but very rarely do I find what I'm interested in. Today I went in looking for something specific and of course they didn't have it.

One of the workers was checking the back for what I was looking for and I laid eyes on this awesome comic plaque. It was $3 and I scooped it up and left happy. The boy is going to love it. For only $3 I am really happy too.

A very good morning

We have been having some discipline issues around here lately. Imagine my surprise when the kids and I had a really great day.

Today was a school holiday but it was also parent/teacher conference day. I didn't have anyone to watch the kids so I had no choice but to bring them. They did awesome! I made it through all 3 conferences and all of the kids got super great reports. Both in grades and behavior. I am a VERY proud mama right now.

Because they were so good we went to Target after we left the school. The boy had a little birthday $ he got late yesterday from his uncle and nanny. I promised them if they behaved we would go. Of course he went for the Legos. He choose a ninjago set and is thrilled to pieces. They are all having a blast with it right now.

Before we left Target we stopped and grabbed a snack. It has been a very needed good day.

Quick run to Target

I think I'm getting better at the whole mom thing. I can even handle additional children on occasion. :-)

Thank you grocery cart people!!

Thanks to the genius that invented the smaller car carts I actually got through our grocery shopping today. Normally I don't use them because they are ridiculously hard to navigate. But today I found one that was like a mini cart attached to the car and it was super easy to control.

Thanks dear cart people! You saved this mamas life today.

Nice to know

It's nice to know that if for some reason we ever decided to have another child that I could actually handle it. This morning I packed up four kiddos and headed to the grocery store for 2 weeks worth of groceries. It was interesting. At least now I know I could totally rock being a mom of four. (Although I don't see that ever happening.)

A Goodwill find

I usually walk out of Goodwill empty handed. Not today. Today was a day I walked out with 2 bags and a smile. They had an entire wall of Disney and kids VHS movies in perfect condition. Best part is that they were only $.99 each!! I ended up with ten new movies and 3 very happy kids. I just love those days when I can surprise my kiddos for just a little cash.

Proud Mama Moment

I made a deal with the girls that if they made A's and B's on their first report cards that I would take them to Build-a-Bear and let them make whatever animal they choose. I am proud to say that both girls nailed it!! So on Sunday we made the trip and our neighbor came with us. The girls had so much fun and absolutely love their new babies.

Diamond

Two days before the boys' birthday I took him to Build-a-Bear for one of his presents. He ended up picking out a puppy and completing his outfit with a guitar and sunglasses. The puppy is named Diamond and the boy is in love. He is always telling me that Diamond is performing in a concert with his guitar.

I took a bunch of photos but this one took me over ten minutes to load so I don't have the time to post all 15 I took. Maybe I will eventually but for now I leave you with my favorite photo of our day.

We survived!

I have started watching an adorable 8 month old 3-4 times a week. We all adore her and she is constantly spoiled and loved on. The other day I had to get to the bank and grocery store so I was left with no choice but to pack up all 4 kids and head out.

I expected at least one or two of us to make it back to the van in one piece but was pleasantly surprised when all 5 of us made it out alive .

WOW!!

That is really the only appropriate title for this post. We left the house at 8:20 this morning and just now finally came home to rest a little after midnight.

8:20- Left the house to do a huge ( monthly) grocery trip with all 3 kids in tow.
* Came home and dropped off the groceries.
* Packed up Makayla's suitcase and headed out for my mother-in-laws and decided to stop at another grocery store before hand.
* While walking into the 2nd grocery store hubs calls and asks me to bring him drinks up to work so we finish shopping then head to his work and make the drop.
* Then out of town to my mother-in-laws. Once we are there she decides to keep Macie the weekend too so I have to run to Target to grab some supplies for her since she didn't have anything packed.
* Boy and I head home.
* Stop at home for 20 minutes then head to our neighbors moms' house to swim.
* Decide to do a fish/shrimp fry at our neighbors. Hang out, cook, laugh, guys play video games, etc.
***FINALLY home a little past midnight!!
WOW!! I just laid the boy down and it is 12:19a.m!

Target stop

I took the boy with me to Target today. I planned on going to Petco afterwards but it was so hot out and by the time we got in the van I was done. It's been a few months since I have been to Target because I have been doing most of our shopping at our local grocery store but I needed to refill Macie's epi-pens. The boy decided it would be great fun to go into mommy's purse and take out the life saving epi's to pull apart. How he did this without stabbing himself I may never know. While there we picked up some more organic snacks and a few other things.

"Oh please Mommy! Please let me have a big bag of marshmallows!"

Organic snacks amongst other things.

I also remembered to bring my reusable bags. Macie has been very concerned lately about the environment.

Now we are home with a pizza in the oven for lunch and watching Pirates of the Caribbean 2. I love days where I don't have to rush.

Morning with the boy

This morning I declared it errand day. I really wanted to go to Hobby Lobby and get the boys hair cut. We left shortly after dropping the girls off at school. Our first stop was Denny's.

I feel the need to point out my sons eyes. Do you see how blue they are? How perfect they match his shirt. Oh yes...heart breaker in the making.

What did the boy have at 8:30 a.m? Well mac-n-cheese of course. Yes I am a cool mom and let him get his favorite food as breakfast.

Then on to Hobby Lobby. Mama used a TON of self control and only spent $42. In my defense they have really raised their prices on yarn and some of their scrapbooking stuff. The boy was not happy to be squeezed into the tiny cart. There was no way I could let him run lose among all the glass and breakable stuff so he had to suffer through. He was not happy and complained that his neck hurt the whole time. Sorry baby. Mama was on a mission.

Then we went to get the boy a haircut.

I tried to get a better shot of his haircut after we got home but he didn't want to cooperate so this is all I have for now.

A great day with my little heart breaker. Gosh I love this kid.
