Chickens and friends

I am so tired. I've got to make a huge batch of green beans for hubs to take to work for their pot luck Thanksgiving tomorrow.

The kids and I spent all day at our friends house in the country. We just hung out and the kids spent most of their time playing with the little chicks that aren't quite ready to be left on their own yet. I had planned to take a bunch of photos but I only took 2. Both of Makayla holding a chick. She was especially attached to them.

As usual when we made it home (around 9:30) the kids put themselves straight to bed. There is something about the country life that wears my munchkins out every time.

Weekend (Part 1)

Today was an absolutely wonderful day. We spent the entire day at our friends house in the country. We LOVE going over there. It's just always so much fun and the family just happens to be one of our favorites ever.

The kids spent the whole day swimming and playing outside. The adults worked out (my friend is the one who got me started on getting serious about losing weight) and I ran/walked
over a mile on the treadmill.

The boy got exactly what he wanted for his birthday from them and had so much fun playing with all his new Lego people. It really was the perfect day. By the time we got home the kids were so tired they got out of the car and whined that they were going back to sleep. (They fell asleep in the car on the way home.) We left the house around 9:00 and got home around 9:30pm.

Tomorrow is another huge day for us so I'll be back on Monday. Hope your weekend is turning out as great as ours.

Kids and Chickens Part 2

My friend who lives in the country invited the kids and I to spend the night on Wednesday. We packed up and made the drive and got there around 1:00. From the time we pulled up to a little after dark the kids were outside playing. My friend has 2 kids and her niece was visiting too so there were 6 kiddos total. My kids LOVED the chickens and spent a good amount of time in the coop chasing them and collecting eggs.

Kids eating lunch. One kid is missing. She wanted peanut butter so she had to sit somewhere else so she wouldn't contaminate Macie.

CHICKENS!!! There are 40 of them!

The kids played everything they could think of outside. They were in heaven.

My friend and I scrapbooked the entire time. I was able to finish a ton of pages for an 8X8 album for several of our beach trips.

For bedtime we set up a pallet for all 6 kiddos. They were WAY TOO CUTE all laying together. We let them watch MegaMind.

It was almost midnight when the kids crashed. Macie eventually moved to the corner of the couch to sleep. Here is a beautiful sight. 6 kids all passed out from exhaustion. Oh and a dog. He fell asleep with them next to the boy.

In the morning we got to watch all the chickens fly out of their coop. Did I mention how much my kids loved them? They fed them and kept running inside and telling us they found more eggs. They even watched a hen lay one.

LOVE LOVE this pic of Makayla. She now wants another dog really bad.

The boy is covered in dirt head to toe and he loved every single minute of it.

The weather was GORGEOUS and the time spent with friends was perfect. I am so lucky to have such wonderful friends. This particular friend has been in my life since I was in Kindergarten. Wow. It is so wonderful to look back and remember playing together and now our kids get to grow up together too. :)

Kids and Chickens

The kids and I just had the best 2 days away. I am honestly WAY too exhausted to post about it right now but I will say that it involved 6 kiddos and chickens (40 to be exact).

Tomorrow I should feel rested enough to post about our great time. Right now I have to finish giving my kids their bath since they are covered in dirt from being outside till dark last night and then outside again directly after breakfast this morning.

Country Kids

Yesterday morning started out pretty good. Well if you don't take into account that I woke up sick. But other than that it was good. Hubs went and bought donuts for us all and we just lounged around watching Ducktales. After breakfast we decided to go visit hubs aunt, uncle and cousins for a day. We grilled and the kids ran around. They live in the country so the kids were in heaven. They even have 3 HUGE pigs. The kiddos thought they were awesome. I kept imaging how full my freezer would be of bacon if they were ours.

We really enjoyed the visit.
