Last week

I had something really great happen last week. I won a giveaway over at Crunchy Peas!! I would of course link but I don't think I can via my iPhone so for those of you who want to check out Libby's blog it is in my blogroll on my sidebar.

There were five winners and I was one of them. Libby created some awesome prints to celebrate her 500th post and we got to choose which print we wanted. I loved them all but the coffee one called out to me. And I just so happened to have the perfect spot for it.

My iPhone photo does not do it justice because it turned out dark and grainy but I LOVE it!! I was in denial that I had actually won until the poster tube showed up in my mailbox. Thanks again Libby!! My kitchen is smiling. :-)

RAWR!!!

Every now and then my semi frugal self succumbs to temptation. Normally it happens while surfing Etsy. Today was no different.

Some of you might remember a post from my old blog about the boy and I playing dinosaur. It has quickly become our thing when we are alone together. The boy runs and jumps on my bed and quickly throws the covers over both of us screaming that there is a dinosaur coming and then he yells RAWR!! We both hide until we feel it's safe and then it starts all over again.

So before I knew it this print was in my cart and Paypal was being logged into. After all, every time one of us yells "RAWR!" we are really saying "I love you!"

The print can be purchased here.

A couple happy links

We are busy healing and cleaning over here. I don't have much to say today except for a few links I love. I started surfing pinterest and I am hooked. SO many awesome ideas floating around. Here are a few.....

* I am SO doing this for my kids birthdays!!

* MUST print one out for myself!!

* This is so easy and cute! I'm thinking birthday or Christmas!

Now back to cleaning....and healing....and cleaning some more.

The life of stuff

I have been feeling so bogged down by STUFF lately. We have SO much stuff in this house and it is cluttering my mind. I am wanting to break free. When hubs and I talked about it I felt a lot better. The solution..... Garage Sale and Craigslist and this time anything that doesn't get used on a regular basis or anything we don't absolutely LOVE goes. No more half de-cluttering. I am talking a ruthless cleaning. I have started in the kitchen and let me tell you it feels

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I like it but it is just for decoration and not something I am head over heals for it goes. The kitchen is looking so good and I feel great after making such drastic moves. My real inspiration is here.

Our couches came with a huge ottoman that we never use. It has been in our living room since we got the couches and takes up a huge part of our living room wall. I asked hubs what he thought and we decided to send it packing. The room looks a lot bigger now. This is such a wonderful light weight feeling. It truly feels like a new adventure for our family.

Frugal Inspiration

I stumbled upon this super neat blog less than 2 weeks ago and I have been in love ever since. I am still working on reading the archives. The writer proves that being frugal does not have to affect your quality of life. She makes it fun and is very inspiring. Such a good read so go check it out at The Frugal Girl.

New year inspiration

One of the best things about a new year is the amount of inspiration that floats around the web. Everyone is looking to make positive changes in their lives and homes and so there is definitely not a shortage of inspiring ideas. I have come across a few that have made me think hard about things I can improve on to make our lives happier and easier.

Living gracefully in small spaces

Canning quick breads- I am ridiculously excited about trying this in the next week or so!!

Making home a heaven in 2011

Does it get any better than Soulemama? I don't think so. Now I am inspired to paint our cabinet that holds blankets and quilts. I am hardly able to pull myself away from her archives even though I have read them all over the past year or so.
