Road trip PART 3.5

I just posted about the morning of competition but I'm having to break it down a few photos at a time because of my Internet service. So here's the pool shots I took before we got ready and headed out to compete.

State comp. road trip PART 3

Last night I typed out a big huge post and because my service is soooo bad out here it got deleted after it tried to post for 7 hours. So I'm going to break it up into a much smaller post and only do a few pics at a time.

The morning of competition we woke up early, showered and went down to breakfast. Since we had gotten to the hotel so late the pool was already closed. The kids REALLY wanted to swim but the pool wasn't supposed to open until 10:00 am. All the girls had to be on their way to competition by then so my besties hubby went to the front desk and told them we had 3 little cheerleaders who really wanted to swim. They said absolutely no problem at all and let us open the pool after we were done with breakfast around 8:00. The kids got to swim and we were the only ones out there for 90% of the time!

Here's a few photos until I post more.

State Comp. road trip PART 2

We got to the hotel around 11:00 Friday night. One of our other friends also got to go because her daughter placed in regionals as well. So all 3 of us won that day and it was awesome to know we would all travel together. We left the hotel up to her and simply told her to let us know how much we owed and where to go. She reserved all 3 rooms. She choose WELL. Better than well. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites. It was sooooo great. We were all so surprised and none of us wanted to leave it Saturday.

Once we got there Friday night the mad scramble began to get everything up and unloaded. Room shuffles began as well and my besties daughter begged to sleep in mine and Makaylas room. She got her wish. A little after midnight the girls fell asleep.

My bestie went downstairs to the van and sent me a pic of a coffee bar by the desk. We went back down almost immediately. The BEST coffee I've ever had. We had such a great nights sleep. Best $$ we could have spent on a hotel.

State competition road trip! PART 1

This weekend was our State Cheerleading Competition. The girls got 2nd at regionals so they earned their place at state. My bestfriend (from kindergarten) also got to go since her daughter got 1st at regionals in her division. We decided to road trip together!! It was AMAZING! She brought her husband and 4 kids and then it was Makayla and me. It was a 5 hour one way trip. I have SO much to share about this but I'm gonna have to break it up into at least 2-3 posts. I'm gonna start with the ride up there.

They came to pick us up and when they pulled up we were so excited to see they had written the girls names and cheer stuff all over their van windows. SO cool. I wish I had gotten pics because it rained almost right after and washed off. (More on that in a second.)

So we pack up and get going and  less than a block from my house we hit traffic.  5:00 pm on Friday with construction traffic. We set the van to track our mileage. 10.2 miles in 70 minutes. Yes 70 minutes. It started raining and I couldn't get out so I had my bestie take one pic of the writing from the inside lol. Better than nothing right?

We finally clear traffic a little and by then it was around 6:30 and everyone was starving. We had at least 4 hours ahead of us still to get there so we stopped to eat. Best Mexican food restaurant EVER. A little pricey but worth every single penny. We ordered and less than 10 minutes later our food arrived. We kept saying no way is that ours already. And let me tell you it was beyond fantastic. I've grown up on Mexican food and it may have been the best I've ever had. We were all so stuffed after we couldn't move.

We took care of bathroom breaks and got everyone locked and loaded and headed out for our remaining 4 hour drive. It was so pretty the whole drive. We made it to our awesome hotel around 11:00 pm.

I'm gonna end this post with these pics of the way up there and then start with our hotel in my next post.

Dental emergencies and a peanut reaction

The last few days have been chaos. Yesterday Makayla and Macie both had emergency dental visits. I had to have my schedule switched at work so I could get them in. Macie had been crying and crying about pain in her mouth. We thought she had an infected tooth or gums. Turns out hers was just basically a paper cut in her mouth and the dentist said within 10 days she will be fine.

Makayla's was a little worse. After her surgery last summer they put a spacer in her mouth to prevent the 2 teeth next to the gap where the benign tumor tooth was removed from growing into that space. Well one of those teeth the spacer was resting on was a baby tooth and it was ready to come out. No wonder she was in pain. The spacer was holding the baby tooth down while the new tooth was trying to push through. So they pulled the baby and once the permanent is all the way in she will get a new spacer.

Then today I was in my room going through paperwork and I hear Macie screaming "where's the Benadryl?? Where??" That's never good. I go to see what happened and sure enough... Freak peanut reaction. Makayla had a piece of chocolate a friend had given her and opened the guinea cage for Macie so she could put Oreo back in. She must have had chocolate on her fingers and then when Macie put Oreo up and shut the door she touched it. And had a BAD reaction. To make it worse the Benadryl had disappeared. I threw the kids in the car and sped to Walgreens. We ran through the store like crazy people and I ripped the box open right there in the aisle and dosed her up. She was ok after that. The rash was all over her face, neck and arms.

She came home and took a bath and then laid in my bed a while and worked on her rainbow loom. There is always something happening around here. I wouldn't mind just one quite nice relaxing day.

Lost in a jungle

On Saturday when we were at my aunts the boy and my mom went outside to play. They were gone quite a while and I eventually made my way out to find them. They were playing like they were lost in an African jungle. It was the absolute cutest thing EVER. The boy was gathering twigs and pretending he was cooking a fish over the open fire. My mom was pretending to be upset they were lost and the boy kept telling her "Relax. I've been lost for 9 years. I know what I'm doing." Haha.

I love seeing the kids creative play. So much better than the times they are glued to a screen. Between their tablets, tv and my phone it's hard to get them to actually play.

The Easter that wasn't on Easter

When I look back on my past blog posts I realize that the ones where I just talked about our day to day lives are my favorite. A lot of times I don't blog because I'm thinking oh that's boring. But I'm going to start recording our day to day more often.

This Easter was quite different from previous  years. Since I had to work on Easter we had to switch it up a bit. The girls know the truth about the Easter bunny but the boy doesn't. The bunny had to come and leave the eggs a day early this year. We always do the egg hunt at my aunts. So Saturday we headed over there and the kids had a blast. Then I kissed them all bye and left because I had to be at work the next day. The bunny left the baskets for them at home until they got back Sunday night. So they basically had 2 days of Easter. I'll post the ones from at home later. These pics are just from my aunts. There are more of the boy because he doesn't mind having his picture taken nearly as much as the girls.

My mom crocheted the girls cute little chicks and the boy a ninja chick. They were such a hit.

National Sibling Day

So according to everyone on Instagram it is National Sibling Day. I didn't even know there was such a thing but naturally it gave me an excuse to get a group pic.

The kids fight so much now it's hard to get them to sit together. But tonight they did and when Zeus jumped up to be in the pic it gave them something to laugh over together and the fighting ceased for 30 seconds. That 30 seconds was all I needed. I LOVE these pictures. I LOVE those 3. I LOVE that my kids have siblings to share national sibling day with.

Flat tire and a storm (at the same time)

Last Friday I took Makayla to cheer practice and dropped her off. They were having a 2 hour practice instead of a 1 hour like usual. I left the boy and Macie at home with hubs. I didn't get 5 minutes down the road from practice when I realized I had a completely flat tire. Great.

So I called hubs and told him what happened. And then I waited. And waited. He went to the wrong place! He drove to the complete opposite side of town because he didn't realize what parking lot I was talking about. To make matters worse a huge storm was blowing in and Makayla had to be picked up still. He hurries to me and takes the tire off and we make it to the tire place as they are closing. We had to throw them an extra $10 as a tip and when we made it back to the van it was starting to rain. So there hubs was in the rain fixing my tire. He was NOT happy. Moods and attitudes were flying from everyone. But we got the van fixed in time to get Makayla.

I took a few pics of the kids in dads backseat and a few of the storm.

Thunder and a new tablet

I'm trying to get better at posting again. The other night we had a storm come through unexpectedly and the thunder literally shook the house and the beds. The kids were terrified and I must admit I ran to the door to make sure there wasn't a tornado. I've never experienced anything like that before. All was well thankfully but the kids were so scared. The girls ended up on the floor in our bedroom and the boy in bed with me. Hubs and the dog on the couch. We all slept pretty good all cozied up for the night.

I came home on Sunday night to the surprise of hubs giving me a new tablet. He got a great deal when he upgraded his phone and got it for me. I haven't had time to really play with it yet but I can't wait.

I'm going to try to update every few days instead of every few months like I have been. Life just kinda got too busy to really blog but its important to me to document our lives so I'm slowly making my way back.

The 3 of them

I took this pic a few days ago and wanted to post it because I love it. Sometimes when I'm in the kitchen and see these 3(and the dog ha!) together in the living room my heart skips a beat. (As long as they aren't fighting.)
