It's been a rough day. Renting American Reunion and some blanket crocheting sounded like a good way to end a bad day.
Did I mention it's midnight and my kids are still awake? Yes it's been one of those days.

Crocheting on Sunday
I have been wanting a bunting to hang in the living room for a while now. I almost bought one for around $40 the other day but then I thought about it and decided to pass. Last night I realized that I could easily make one myself with the stash of yarn I have. So this morning I found a pattern online and got to it. I worked on it on and off this morning and finally finished. I am pretty happy with the results especially because it cost me $0 since I already had all the yarn.

Crochet Loving
The last few days all I have really wanted to do is crochet. It has been calling my name lately. Yesterday I decided I was going to get some yarn going regardless of having all 3 kids home this week. I spent a good part of yesterday crocheting which was absolutely heavenly. Wanna see what I made?

It is called a decorative pot holder and the pattern can be found here. I am pretty proud of this little thing. It took me hours to make. There were parts I messed up on and had to rework and figure out but I did it. And I love it and I hope to make many many more of these little beauties. SO MUCH FUN!! My neighbor wants one now.
And of course I am still working away on my granny stripe blanket. Gotta love yarn.

Comfort Weekend
We had a pretty good weekend. We had planned to have a garage sale on Saturday with our neighbors but that fell through when we woke up to rain so it has been moved to next weekend. We hung out at home and ran a few errands. I took the girls to the bookstore and then Sunday night we all had dinner with friends.
Our weekend was filled with comfort, family, friends, crocheting, books and the warmth of home. We got a lot done and it is continuing through the week for us hopefully. I have an insane to-do list. I hope to tackle it so we can actually spend a few days at home without having to run somewhere.

The mother of all catch-up posts
This is going to be a huge catch-up post. Let's start with the weekend we got to spend KID FREE!! My mom took Makayla and the boy and my mother-in-law took Macie for an entire weekend. It was so wonderful to get to spend so much time with hubs. We went shopping, had lunch, went to the movies, sushi with friends for dinner, took me out to learn to drive a standard and so much more. We finally went to see True Grit. It was a weekend we both really needed and it completely refreshed us for the kids coming back home. The entire weekend I took one pic. This was when we were eating lunch at the best burrito place in the world. So good.
There has also been lots of time spent in the kitchen.

The kids threw a birthday party for their dolls and raided my gift bag drawer before I woke up that morning.

There has been lots of lounging.

One morning I woke up to our fridge not working. Thankfully the freezer side was fine and we were able to keep all of our food. I called our landlord and the next day she had a new fridge delivered because ours was 20 years old and on it's last leg. I LOVE the new one. (Pic coming soon).
The kids looked through the scrapbook of hubs and I. It was so cute how excited they were.

The finished bright granny blanket
I got around to taking a couple quick photos of the finished bright granny blanket. I love it. The colors. The softness. Perfect to curl up in when you need the extra warmth. It makes me so very happy.
Out of everything I love about this blanket I must say that I love this the most though.... the fact that my kids adore it and they are always excited about whatever crochet project I am working on. They are growing up with an appreciation for handmade stuff and that makes my heart happy to the core.

Bright Granny Blanket
I took a break from crocheting because I simply didn't have the time. A few weeks ago I found a blanket I had started at the beginning of last year and I knew I just had to finish it. I haven't had a chance to take a photo of the finished blanket yet but here it is when it was almost finished. I LOVE the colors.
I have already started my next blanket using a new pattern. I will share more on that later. I'm running short on time today.
