Homemaking Happiness

The last few months have been extremely stressful for our family. After our loss in February I got pretty depressed and started looking for an easy way to do pretty much everything. We have lived off of takeout and frozen pizzas for far too long. The other day I was thinking about how much I used to bake and have good snacks ready for the kids. I hate that I fell out of that routine.

Now that things are settling down and we are actually getting a grip on a lot of things that should have been taken care of long ago I feel that I have more time to devote to doing little things for my family. I LOVE being a homemaker. There is not a thing in this world that I would rather do than raise children and provide a warm and cozy home for my hubby and kids. I am now making sure I get back to those roots.

It feels pretty good to be back. Right now there is a batch of cranberry oatmeal muffins baking in my oven. It has been raining all day and the house is looking pretty good. To top it all off my eye is feeling a lot better. There are probably going to be more domesticated posts here from now on. I seriously do not want to see another pizza delivery guy for a very long time. The delivery drivers have stopped calling to see which house we are. Not a good sign.

And because today was such a rainy and cozy day I have to share a pic of the boy all snuggled in my bed watching Cheaper by the Dozen ( a favorite around here).

  2. Glad you are finding joy in homemaking again. I had missed your February posts and had to go back to the archives. So sorry. We had lost my father-in-law suddenly in October so I know a little what you have experienced.

Its great when you find something you love doing and wouldn't trade it for anything.
